This Production was a pantomime called Dick Whittington by Bryan Blackburn and was Directed by Wendy Marchant and Joan Golden. Click here for the critique(s).

Auditions were held on Sunday 6th October at 1pm at Flaunden Village Hall. It was a great turn out and the Auditioning Panel had a hard time creating the right balance between parts while trying to ensure that auditionees are cast in a part that they both wanted and were suitable for - never an easy task!

Thanks you for other Members who came along to give their support.

We had a HUGE turn out of younger would-be Members auditioning for Dancers.

Synopsis:

Dick Whittington has a dream about being Lord Mayor of London and sets off to the big city to make his fortune.  Along the way he gets a job as a rat catcher for Alderman Fitzwarren and meets two important characters ….King Rat, a nasty piece of work and Alice, Fitzwarren’s daughter and Dick’s love of his life.

Dick is falsely accused of stealing Alice’s birthday necklace and has to flee.  In the meantime Alice has been kidnapped by two baddies called Cringe and Bosun and taken aboard a ship bound for Morocco.  Dick, naturally, stows away on the ship and they all end up in the Sultan’s palace in Morocco and have a big fight with loads of rats…………anyway, if you are still with the plot lucky you!

You’ll just have to come to see the Show to find out what happens in the end!
